The New Face of the Silicon Age Post

     “The New Face of the Silicon Age” really brought to light the behind the scenes struggle of outsourcing. More and more companies today are looking to other countries as the work-force for their products. This directly affects the American citizens by taking the jobs that they would normally do. However, the fact that the citizens of other countries do just as good of job if not better in creating the product, and are willing to do it for less money, is very attractive to companies. If you were the CEO of a company and you could get your product made of the same quality as Americans make it, but could spend less money on producing it, wouldn’t you choose to spend less money on foreign employees? I know that it puts Americans out of jobs, but it looks like outsourcing is going to be around for a while, and people in those disciplines are just going to have to find a way to get a job. Not only are the companies benefitting from this relationship, but the countries that are involved seem to be on an economic rise because of the relationship. As long as both sides are satisfied with the cooperation, I think it will be very difficult to end outsourcing. If anything, this can be used as motivation for Americans to work harder and harder to try and out-do the foreign competition.
