This story also proved to be inspirational to me as a minority. Zitkala-Sa went through many hardships that as a student during the 21 century I will not encounter. Blatant racial issues are all but a thing of the past now and many of the racial stiff guidelines no longer exist. This makes me believe that the small issues that I have going through school should be easy to overcome being that minorities before me had to overcome issues that were much greater.
